Former Chairman Board of Commissioners for Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC)and Fourth Republic lawmaker, Senator Biyi Durojaiye, is dead.
Family sources said Durojaiye died in the early hours of Tuesday in Lagos while receiving medical attention. He was 88.
Senator Durojaiye was born in February 1933. He earned a BSc (Economics) London and an LLB, London.
He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1979 and was a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He worked for 35 years in the public sector, including 28 years as a Director of the Central Bank of Nigeria and the National Mint. He worked with the International Monetary Fund, the Federal Reserve System in the U.S.A and the City University London between 1964 and 1982.
An indigene of Ogun State before becoming a Senator in the fourth republic, Durojaiye was an elected member of 1988/89 Constituent Assembly.
