Brandshow with Wale Alabi – Dreammaker
“If you come to Lagos and you are not successful, you cannot be a success in other climes. Not even in God’s own country, America!” – Author Unknown
Like the biblical Canaan, a land flowing with milk and honey, Lagos is a honey pot. A land where success stories are woven at an incredible pace. Lagos is a city of success. Lagos is a city where big dreams amplified with intrepid doggedness and atom of luck soon become successful realities. Lagos is a jinx breaker. Lagos is a dream maker. If you doubt this assertion: ask Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man who hit gold in commodity trading. Ask Rasaq Akanni Okoya a.k.
Indeed, only in Lagos will an ordinary bread hawker, Jumoke Orisagunna by a stroke of luck become a celebrity, bringing fame and fortune to his family. It is a known fact that virtually all these successful people and others who became successful in Nigeria either have their roots or connection with Lagos. Name them: from Wole Soyinka to Achebe, from Mike Adenuga to Aliko Dangote, from Kanu Nwankwo to Jay- Jay Okocha, and from Chimamanda Adichie to Folorunso Alakija. They all at one time or the other had contact with Lagos. And this contact to a certain extent defined their careers, impacted their lives.
This is not our regular edition. It’s a special commemorative edition on brand Lagos that clocked fifty recently. It is a befitting tribute to Lagos, the golden city where dreams flourish. Please flip through the pages and enjoy.
